Pentagon spokesman says we left Americans in Afghanistan but it’s okay because it happens all the time

The Biden administration is trying to claim things in Afghanistan were under control the entire time.

The American people know better.

Now, this Pentagon spokesman says we indeed left Americans in Afghanistan, but it’s okay because it happens all the time.

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby keeps putting his foot in his mouth, but this time it was a real doozy.

In an attempt to convince the public that the Biden administration has things under control in Afghanistan, Kirby said, “we have Americans get stranded in countries all the time.”

Those are not exactly the words people want to hear right now.

The statement came during an interview with MSNBC’s Willie Geist on Morning Joe.

Geist asked, “So what does that look like, how does diplomacy get those people out of the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan?”

Kirby appeared to be trying to downplay the situation by arguing these things happen all the time.

“It’s not completely unlike the way we do it elsewhere around the world. I mean, we have Americans that get stranded in countries all the time,” Kirby replied.

Kirby’s statement garnered swift backlash on social media.

“This is the message we are left with from the Biden administration as hundreds of our citizens may never make it home,” tweeted Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona.

Jerusalem Post columnist Emily Schrader simply tweeted, “Shame!”

Aside from the statement being insanely insensitive, it also contradicted what the White House has been saying about Americans left behind.

According to Jen Psaki, Americans were not “stranded,” and she said it’s “irresponsible” to refer to them as such.

So, what is it?

The White House has yet another messaging problem.

First, they couldn’t get on the same page about masks and COVID vaccines. Now it’s about innocent Americans being left behind enemy lines in a terrorist-run country.

This happens when people aren’t being truthful.

It’s hard to keep lies going when everyone isn’t on the same page.

Seems the White House needs work on who’s supposed to say what and when because right now, it just looks like a poor attempt to cover up Biden’s disasters.

Which, in reality, is precisely what it is.
