Just months removed from the contentious 2020 election, everyone’s focus is already on the 2022 midterm elections.
And now Nancy Pelosi’s long-held position in Congress as Speaker of the House is in doubt.
That’s because one decision by Donald Trump could replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House in 2022.
Former Trump Chief Strategist Steve Bannon – a seasoned Republican tactician – proposed an ambitious reentry into politics for the former President.
Speaking to a group of Boston Republicans, Bannon outlined Trump’s path back into the political sphere by arguing for him to run for Congress in 2022.
Bannon claimed Trump should run for Congress in his new home state of Florida, where he enjoys considerable support from conservatives and Republican colleagues alike.
Assuming he receives votes from every Republican representative, he would still need about five votes from Democrats in order to secure his role as Speaker of the House.
However, if Republicans can flip six House seats in 2022 and regain the majority, Trump could win Speaker of the House on a party-line vote, where he would be able to combat Joe Biden’s radical leftist policies tooth-and-nail.
“Trump is a disruptor, but he has a long-term vision because I absolutely believe in the marrow of my bones that he will be our nominee in 2024,” Bannon explained. “He’ll come back to us. We’ll have a sweeping victory in 2022, and he’ll lead us in 2024.”
If Trump can become Speaker of the House, not only would he be able to set himself up for a 2024 White House run, but he could bring up articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for stealing the 2020 election.
“We totally get rid of Nancy Pelosi, and the first act of President Trump as Speaker [of the House] will be to impeach Joe Biden for his illegitimate activities of stealing the presidency,” Bannon concluded.
Donald Trump won the White House as a political outsider in 2016.
He was the first President ever elected without any political or military experience.
Now, could he try making a comeback in 2022 by draining the swamp in Washington, D.C. from the inside as Speaker of House – starting with Nancy Pelosi?
