The Democrats are no longer even trying to hide their radicalism.
Leftists have been emboldened over the past few years to aim for all of their insane goals.
And one Democrat-run city just instituted a shockingly racist policy.
Oakland is one of many cities that has been beset by decades of Democratic leadership.
And the city has confounded its problem by creating a pilot universal basic income (UBI) program for low-income households . . . so long as they’re not white.
CBS News reports:
“To be eligible, individuals must have at least one child under the age of 18 and an income that is at or below 50% of the area median income — about $59,000 per year for a family of three . . . Participants will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants who meet the eligibility requirements . . . [I]t is the first program to limit participation strictly to Black, Indigenous and people of color communities.”
So, in other words, low-income white people in the city need not apply.
This is the consequence of insane identity politics goals carried out to their logical conclusion.
The neo-Marxist doctrine of Critical Race Theory (CRT) argues that white people are the oppressors, and thus have privilege, and all nonwhites are oppressed.
This childish and destructive view of the world doesn’t take into consideration any other circumstances.
Worse yet, this ideology is spreading.
The Left has become so “woke” that they’re bringing back segregation.
Donald Trump banned CRT training from government programs, but Joe Biden made sure to reverse the executive action as one of his first orders.
It’s no surprise that Oakland would be a target for such nonsense.
Far-left mayor Libby Schaaf once tipped off illegal aliens that ICE raids were taking place in her city.
Schaaf also opened a hate crime investigation into a hate incident after ropes were found hanging from a tree in the park – Schaaf proceeded with the investigation even after she discovered the ropes were put there by a black man who used them daily for exercise.
This UBI experiment will likely spread around the country, and it will probably include the same racist parameters if Democrats get their way.
As for these types of pilot payment programs, they’ve been tried before, and they invariably led to decreased labor force participation.
When people are incentivized not to work – surprise, surprise – they don’t work.
