Social and digital media have a stranglehold on the daily lives of Americans now more than ever before.
For this reason, the federal government has invested a significant amount of resources to monitor what Americans see and when.
But Merrick Garland spit out his coffee after getting this devastating legal update.
It looks like the FBI has been caught red-handed once again
For the vast majority of their existence, the FBI operated knowing that most Americans trusted them and their motives.
However, this dynamic has completely changed following a series of whistle-blower reports and leaked documents, showing that the FBI and Department of Justice allegedly acted with political motives.
The Twitter files in particular severely damaged the FBI and DOJ’s image, showing that Twitter (now X) allegedly worked with the federal government to silence voices critical of Joe Biden and his regime.
Last week, Attorney General Merrick Garland and his cronies got a new headache after the political watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the FBI.
The lawsuit alleges that the FBI paid Twitter nearly $3.5 million of taxpayer dollars for censorship schemes, among other nefarious reasons.
Per Judicial Watch’s website, “Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice for records of any payments made by the FBI to Twitter (now known as X) (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:23-cv-03004)). The payments were disclosed in internal Twitter documents (the “Twitter Files”) made available by Elon Musk to journalists.”
Furthermore, “In a December 19, 2022, report on “Twitter Files,” independent journalist Michael Shellenberger reveals an email which states the FBI paid Twitter nearly $3.5 million of U.S. taxpayer money as “reimbursement for the time spent processing requests from the FBI” from October 2019 to February 2021.”
As Judicial Watch mentioned, these lawsuits are the result of the FBI’s failure to comply with several Freedom of Information Act requests, obscuring the details of these significant transactions.
What these lawsuits mean for the scandal-plagued FBI
Without public trust, agencies such as the FBI cannot operate effectively.
Now more than ever, the public believes that the FBI has acted in bad faith, allegedly using their authority to advance the political aspirations of Joe Biden and his cronies.
Even worse, many have accused the FBI of silencing Donald Trump, his supporters, and anybody else who stands in Joe Biden and Democrats’ path.
If these allegations are true, then it reveals a culture of corruption and greed within the FBI that has the potential to unravel the agency.
