Liberal comedian called out one massive censorship operation

The Left has become increasingly authoritarian.

Even Democrats are beginning to take notice.

And a liberal comedian called out one massive censorship operation.

Comedian, writer, and actress Whitney Cummings appears to be the most recent liberal fed up with the pall of censorship that’s hanging over Big Tech and public discourse in general.

Cummings commented that social media platforms have become hostile to comedy.

She tweeted:

“I’m starting to think Twitter isn’t a SAFE SPACE for comedy?”

Cummings’s statement comes as the establishment continues to relentlessly attack her friend and colleague Joe Rogan.

Cummings defended Rogan and called out the so-called mainstream media in one sentence.

“Don’t look to why so many people trust Joe Rogan,” Cummings tweeted. “Look to why so few people trust the mainstream media.”

Trust in the corporate-controlled press is at an all-time low, which has allowed for alternative media platforms to rise.

People are losing faith in legacy media institutions like The New York Times.

Cummings—who described herself as “the progressive libtard in the room” when she was the executive producer on the Roseanne reboot (Roseanne Barr was fired and the show was rebranded The Conners)—is not terribly fond of “woke” culture.

A few years back, Cummings complained on Conan O’Brien’s late-night show that she was dragged before human resources for wishing her staff a Merry Christmas.

Cummings explained:

“Last year, I was working on a TV show, got in trouble with human resources for saying ‘Merry Christmas’…I was leaving…I was like, ‘Bye, guys. Merry Christmas.’ Like just a formality, what you would say…I come back, like, June 6th. HR calls me and they’re like, ‘Hey, we need to talk to you. One of the interns is pissed off that you said ‘Merry Christmas.’”

When Conservatives talk about the Left’s War on Christmas, this is a prime example.

Cummings added, “I should not know who believes in God and who doesn’t…I also can’t guess either, you know?”

It’s time for more liberals to speak out against censorship and cancel culture so the country can go back to something approximating “normal.”

Otherwise, the censorious Big Tech alligator will continue to eat, and eventually more liberals will find themselves the meal.

Comedians are often the cultural canaries in the coal mine.

Years ago, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock said they stopped performing at colleges because the kids were too “woke.”

They didn’t use that word because it hadn’t become common in modern parlance, but they talked about how politically correct and sensitive and dour the students were.

It’s only gotten worse since then, and more liberals are finally catching on.
