The Left has been going after Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas full bore.
Other conservatives on the court have gotten similar treatment.

The Left criticize everything until they control it or destroy it.
The Supreme Court currently has a conservative tilt, so suddenly the high court is “anti-democratic” and “illegitimate.”
There have been multiple hit pieces on the Republican-appointed justices, and now Leftists are launching investigations.
Leftists have targeted conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo, who co-chairs The Federalist Society, a think tank aimed at reorienting the law toward the Constitution instead of liberals’ “living document” interpretation they use to shoehorn in radical policies.
D.C. AG going after Leonard Leo
The Federalist Society says in its mission statement that the organization “is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.”
This is completely contrary to the Left-wing belief that the court serves as a vehicle for radical social change.
In the upcoming Showtime docu-series Deadlocked, a smear job against the conservatives on the court, one “progressive” legal analyst explained, “The objective of the court was to use the Constitution as an engine of social change.”
That was not and is not the objective of the Supreme Court.
POLITICO reported that “Washington D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb is investigating judicial activist Leonard Leo and his network of nonprofit groups, according to a person with direct knowledge of the probe. The scope of the investigation is unclear.”
Months ago, the outlet reported that one of Leo’s nonprofits paid one of his for-profit companies, which triggered a far-Left organization to file a complaint with the D.C. attorney general and the IRS.
Because Leftists often operate as one giant blob, the D.C. Attorney General was more than willing to carry water for Left-wing activists.
In response, Leo’s attorney David B. Rivkin Jr. said that the complaint “is sloppy, deceptive and legally flawed and we are addressing this fully with the DC Attorney General’s office.”
Nonprofit groups pay money for various services, such as paying vendors and renting venues, so there is nothing untoward about Leo’s behavior.
But he has been identified as an enemy of the Left, so they will look for any reason to go after him and scare off donors.
