Joe Biden’s approval numbers are trapped in the gutter.

Vice President Kamala Harris is somehow even more unpopular.

And Harris gave one shocking answer to the biggest threat to democracy.

The Democrat Media Complex has worked tirelessly to push one narrative and drown out any other competing narratives.

That monopoly on information has become more difficult in the era of social media.

And establishment players have used censorship to rein in public discourse on platforms like Facebook and Twitter that have become the de facto public square.

Their moral justification for such censorship efforts is the threat of misinformation and disinformation.

Get safe in London

And Vice President Kamala Harris reiterated that talking point, during an appearance in London.

Harris told reporters, “So I am clear that one of the greatest threats to democracy is mis- and disinformation. Now, the fact of mis- and disinformation is not new. But what increasingly has happened with the evolution of technology is mis- and disinformation can spread quickly, and with AI, in particular, can take on a form that makes it very difficult for the receiver of that information to distinguish between fact or fiction.”

The problem is that the federal government has been a big purveyor of misinformation and disinformation.

For example, during COVID Dr. Anthony Fauci and other public health officials, flip-flopped numerous times on various coronavirus issues.

Fauci went on television and said that masks did not work, then later reversed himself and said that that statement was only to ensure that frontline workers got first dibs on masks.

Expert problems

That is one of many episodes that eroded public trust in the governmental “experts.”

All the while, the Biden administration launched the Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board, which many pointed out mirrored the Ministry of Truth from “1984.”

The DGB was eventually scrapped amid backlash and contradictions under oath from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about when it was actually formed.

On top of that, the Twitter Files dispatches proved that members of the federal government, including Biden White House officials, pressured the social media giant to censor certain voices online even though they were correct.

For instance, Stanford epidemiologist Dr. Jay Bhattacharya was put on Twitter’s “do not trend” list, for countering Dr. Fauci’s narrative about lockdowns and mandates.

Misinformation and disinformation are problems, but censorship in the hands of the federal government is not the solution.
