The recent advances in artificial intelligence technology are sending shockwaves around the world, and predictably, Democrats are doing everything they can to control it.
Just last week, the White House announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will serve as the first-ever “Artificial Intelligence Tsar” complete with a budget of $140 million.
Following Kamala Harris’s assignment, Harris held an event with top AI developers.
In a statement released by the White House, Kamala Harris claimed “As I shared today with CEOs of companies at the forefront of American AI innovation, the private sector has an ethical, moral, and legal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their products.”
She added. “And every company must comply with existing laws to protect the American people. I look forward to the follow through and follow up in the weeks to come.”
Kamala Harris failed to mention any particular regulations that the White House supports, but she added in her statement that “President Biden has been clear that when it comes to AI, we must place people and communities at the center by supporting responsible innovation that serves the public good, while protecting our society, security, and economy,”
Aside from these nondescript statements, Kamala Harris and the White House has not provided any concrete details regarding what the money allocated to this new office will actually be used for.
Kamala Harris does not have any meaningful experience when it comes to technology or artificial intelligence.

Government regulation almost always stifles progress, and this attempt to regulate AI is no exception.
Giving Kamala Harris a massive budget to regulate an industry she knows almost nothing about will provide no benefits to taxpayers, and only serves to stifle innovation.
Although artificial intelligence seems scary to many people, it has a unique opportunity to benefit millions in the fields of medicine, economic planning, and much more.
Instead of cowering in fear every time new technology hits the scene, Joe Biden and his bureaucrats should embrace innovation and allow the free market to self-regulate which usually yields the best results for consumers.
