Vice President Kamala Harris is desperate to convince the American people that she is a moderate.
Her running mate selection of Tim Walz was supposed to help in that endeavor.
But Harris and Walz tried to appear normal and it completely backfired.
Democrats trying to stuff “weird” in the closet
Democrats are known for their projection.
They accuse Republicans of what they are doing.
For example, Democrats and their media allies have tried to paint Donald Trump, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), and the Republicans as “weird.”
That line has been repeated over and over by Democrats and the talking heads in the press.
The reason why is because Democrats want to portray themselves as normal and moderate, when their policies and social agenda are anything but.
Democrats are the party of government-funded abortion-on-demand up to the point of birth, drag queens in public schools, and sterilization surgeries on minors.
Joe Biden-appointed Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson could not even define the word “woman” during her confirmation hearing.
But Democrats are the normal ones.
Kamala Harris is wildly radical in her rhetoric and her policy proposals, but she knows that the press will cover for her.
Same goes for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who described “socialism” as “neighborliness” and made his state a “transgender” sanctuary.
The Democrat-controlled media are now attempting to make them palatable to moderate voters by promoting a Harris-Walz camo hat.
Rolling Stone wrote a piece with the laughable social media headline: “That’s the genius work of this one small bit of Harris/Walz merch: the camouflage hat reclaims the rural and Southern identity that mainstream Democrats have long ignored. Dems are finally embracing country music fans.”

“Girls and gays”
The ridiculous tweet was badly rationed (more comments than likes plus retweets combined).
Worse yet, the magical camouflage hat was not even intended to appeal to “rural” and “Southern” voters.
The Free Press reported that the “vice president’s stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, has been seen at the DNC wearing a camouflage baseball cap with ‘HARRIS WALZ’ emblazoned in orange on the front. Rolling Stone tweeted a picture of the 25-year-old model, commenting that her stepmother’s merch was ‘genius’. . .For the record, Ella Emhoff is neither rural nor Southern—she grew up in an upper-middle-class family in Los Angeles, and is now a ‘multidisciplinary artist’ in Brooklyn.”
Nothing screams “rural” and “Southern” like a “multidisciplinary artist” in Brooklyn that grew up rich in Los Angeles.
The Free Press added that “the camo hats—which sold out earlier this month, netting nearly $1 million for the Harris campaign—were made for girls and gays, not deer-hunting rednecks in Alabama. They are actually a nod to pop singer Chappell Roan, a lesbian and self-proclaimed ‘drag queen’ who sells a nearly identical hat on her own website, except the slogan is ‘Midwest Princess,’ in reference to her hit album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.”
Democrats tried to appear normal, and they just doubled down on esoteric weirdness.
The Free Press writer concluded, “As a member of the target audience for this sort of thing, I must ask: How many gay guys do Democrats think there are in this country?!”
Whatever the number, Democrats will pander to every last one of them.
