Democrats demonized Donald Trump’s immigration policy for five years.
Millions of Americans were duped into believing Joe Biden would fix the problem that Trump was already addressing.
But Biden’s immigration blunder is much worse than anyone thought.
The Biden administration has taken a nonsensical approach to the border crisis.
Donald Trump’s policies of building the border wall, negotiating asylum rules among Central American countries, and convincing Mexico to allow asylum seekers to remain in that country while awaiting U.S. asylum hearing went a long way in quelling the illegal immigration problem.
One of Joe Biden’s first moves as President was to undo all of Trump’s progress.
The result was predictable: a massive surge at the border that has triggered both an immigration and humanitarian crisis.
According to ABC News, “As of a Tuesday report, there are 17,641 unaccompanied migrant minors in government care – 5,606 children are in CBP custody and 12,035 in the care of the Department of Human and Health Services, CBP told ABC News.”
The sobering report is in stark contrast to the inflammatory and morose language used to describe border conditions under Trump.
When Trump was in office, The Washington Post wrote:
“Held in grim steel-and-concrete cells built for adults, these young people are spending an average of 107 hours awaiting transfer to an HHS-run shelter, well over the 72-hour legal limit, the data shows. The largest number of unaccompanied minors held this way during the Trump administration was about 2,600 in June 2019 . . .”
The Trump administration was lambasted nonstop for putting “kids in cages,” but that total has increased by nearly sevenfold under Biden.
Trump never barred access to the border facilities, but Biden has taken the opposite approach because he doesn’t want the press to chronicle just how overrun the facilities are.
Migrants making the journey north even admitted the reason they came to the country was because of Biden.
Filmmaker Namrata Singh Gujral highlighted in her documentary America’s Forgotten how Democrat politicians serve as a magnet for illegal aliens because of their empty rhetoric during Presidential debates.
Gujral was a self-described liberal who voted for Trump in 2020 after research for her film opened her eyes to the problem of illegal immigration, both from an American and immigrant perspective.
Biden would be foolish not to re-implement Trump’s policies because the alternative has proven to be a disaster.
