Earlier this year evidence emerged that the federal government played a role in censoring conservative voices on Twitter and other tech platforms.
Government officials are now scrambling to provide answers as to why this collusion took place.
And Joe Biden is quivering with fear with this investigation on the horizon.
Reckoning for Big Government and Big Tech collusion?
Ever since the Twitter Files were released last year, much has been unveiled about the federal government’s role in censoring conservatives online.
It appears as if the FBI and the Department of Justice played a direct role in censoring and labeling various posts, not to mention the all-out removal of the New York Post’s Hunter Biden Laptop story just days before the 2020 election.
Now that Republicans are calling the shots in the House, Big Tech and government officials will have to answer some difficult questions relating to these scandals.
This week alone House Republicans are moving two bills that are designed to address this specific issue.
Hatch Act expansion
The first bill is designed to expand the Hatch Act – which was intended to limit improper and overtly political actions by government officials in their official capacity, like for example a bureaucrat requiring their underlings to attend a presidential campaign rally – to apply to encouraging censorship.
This bill is being introduced by Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, who just told Fox News that he is introducing the bill because “The Biden administration has eroded Americans’ First Amendment rights by bullying social media companies to censor certain views and news on their platforms. Biden administration officials are quick to label inconvenient facts as disinformation and then pressure social media companies to suppress content on their platforms.”
A second bill is being introduced by Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, and according to Fox News the legislation is intended to “Require a report to Congress on every instance in the last five years that a government agency suppressed lawful free speech on social media and other Big Tech platforms.”
In addition to a number of investigations regarding censorship, these measures would help make clear to Joe Biden and Big Tech that this Congress will tolerate them trampling on Americans’ freedom of speech.
Joe Biden and his regime must realize that using their offices to push for censor political opinions they don’t like is unacceptable.
Freedom of speech has been under attack for years in America, and now it is time to fight back.
