The establishment is going after Elon Musk guns-glazing.
And anyone associated with him is catching flak.
But Jim Jordan ripped one Democrat to shreds for trying to censor Musk.
Elon Musk launched a war against the corrupt establishment when he released Twitter’s internal communications to various independent journalists.
The dispatches from the journalists became known as the Twitter Files, and they exposed frightening levels of collusion between Big Tech and various government agencies.
Two of the independent journalists, Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger, both lifelong liberals, were dragged before the House Judiciary Committee and hectored over writing the Twitter Files tranches.
Gerry Connolly, a Democrat from Virginia, tried to spin the narrative that Taibbi and Shellenberger cherry-picked information that made the Democrats look bad.
However, both of them pointed out that they were focused on alphabet agency corruption, which led to more Democrat malfeasance while also acknowledging that some Republican officials had also made censorship requests of Twitter.
But it’s quite clear that much of the censorship and chicanery was on behalf of the Democrats.
Democrats accused of payback after launching FTC probe “eleven days” after Twitter Files release
Congressman Jim Jordan blew up Connolly’s entire line of questioning when he pointed out that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) retaliated against Twitter on behalf of the Biden administration.
Jordan said, “Eleven days after the first Twitter File…the FTC’s first demand in that first letter after the Twitter Files come out is “identify all journalists…and members of the media to whom Twitter worked with.”
The FTC was actively probing for dirt on anyone associated with The Twitter Files.
Jordan also pointed out that Taibbi and Shellenberger were not testifying on behalf of the Republican Party; they were concerned about censorship from the government.
Jordan said, “The idea that I believe both of these individuals [Taibbi and Shellenberger] who are getting ready to testify, I believe that they are both Democrats…The idea that two journalists who happen to be Democrats … I don’t think they’re here to help us politically, I think they’re here to tell us the truth. And oh, by the way, the first FTC letter to Twitter after the first set of Twitter Files, the very first question was ‘who are the journalists you’re talking to?’ And you guys don’t care. You don’t care.”
It’s quite shocking to see Democrats in favor of censorship.
As Taibbi pointed out on his Substack account, “The Democrats Have Lost the Plot.”
They most certainly have.
The Democrats are increasingly the party of journalistic censorship.
