J.D. Vance just laid a trap that leftist reporters walked right into

J.D. Vance is starting to hit his stride as one-half of the Republican presidential ticket. 

He’s been dodging the “gotcha” traps from Big Media’s self-proclaimed “journalists.” 

And now the Republican Senator from Ohio had laid a boobytrap of his own that Leftist reporters just walked right into.  

Big Media’s love fest with Kamala Harris 

In 2020, then-candidate Joe Biden used the COVID pandemic as an excuse to hide from voters and allow Big Media to carry his water all the way to the White House. 

Now it’s 2024, there’s no pandemic, but Kamala Harris is implementing the same scheme. 

And the corporate-controlled press is happy to play along and do its part. 

For example, the Media Research Center (MRC) studied political news coverage from the three major networks, ABC, CBS and NBC from July 21, the day President Biden ended his re-election campaign, through August 17.

MRC noticed that networks spent 66% more time talking about Kamala than they did the 45th President of the United States.

That date range reflects a period when Trump was shot in the face one-week prior, had just finished the Republican National Convention, and participated in the most watched social media interview of all-time with Elon Musk.

But still, Biden’s border czar dominated the news coverage. 

And Kamala didn’t just receive more coverage, MRC found that positive stories comprise an unprecedented 84% of the network news coverage about her.

For comparison, the previous record holder, Barack Obama – who sent chills down the leg of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews – only enjoyed 68% positive coverage, according to MRC.  

J.D. Vance and Tim Walz don’t receive the same media treatment 

The inverse was true for Trump with 89% of the stories about the former President framed negatively.

That negative treatment was extended to Trump’s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH). 

The MRC study found the Vice President’s selection of Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) as Kamala’s running mate garnered 66% positive coverage.

Compare that to the coverage of Trump’s pick of Senator Vance to join him on the ticket, which resulted in 92% negative stories.


In fact, it turns out the so-called “news” agencies are so at the ready to attack Vance, they’re making themselves look like fools in the process. 

Case in point, POLITICO. 

Fact checking the “fact checkers” 

Earlier this week, Vance delivered a speech at a Michigan rally discussing the many problems created by the Biden-Harris administration. 

However, POLITICO decided it would best serve their purpose to instead make it look like the Vice-Presidential candidate was committing an underhanded scheme. 

They posted a report on Vance’s speech to X titled, “‘Our corrupt leadership’: Vance tries to tether Harris to Biden during Michigan rally.”


As many pointed out, Vance didn’t have to “try” to “tether” Kamala to Biden – she’s his second-in-command, and both his border czar and rural broadband czar, both roles in which she’s failed to deliver any positive results. 


The post was nailed with a community note pointing out the obvious. 


POLITICO was also torched by the likes of the Blaze’s Lauren Chen, and political commentator Mary Katharine Ham – along with thousands of regular Twitter users. 


In the aftermath, POLITICO responded by actually changing the link in the tweet to direct to an article headlined “Vance warns of China’s influence during Michigan rally.”
