Facebook has used its considerable reach to control American discourse.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg is finally under the spotlight for what he has done.
Now Facebook is in full-blown panic mode after this latest announcement.
With Mark Zuckerberg at the helm, Facebook turned into a tool of the establishment and now they are basically codependents enabling and pushing the worst in each other.
Zuckerberg funneled some half a billion dollars into a stealth get-out-the-vote operation to elect Joe Biden in 2020 that focused on funding widespread use fraud-prone universal vote-by-mail, ballot harvesting, and drop boxes in Democrat areas.
That was on top of Facebook censoring Trump supporters and killing stories that made Biden look bad.
Despite that help for their guy Joe, it seems the establishment isn’t happy with the balance of power and wants more control.
And another whistleblower is coming forward to throw Zuckerberg and Facebook under the bus.
Former Facebook employee Sophie Zhang says she’s prepared to testify before Congress against Facebook on the heels of Facebook “whistleblower” and Democrat operative Frances Haugen testifying earlier this month.
Zhang wrote in a tweet:
“If Congress wishes for me to testify, I will fulfill my civic duty, as I’ve publicly stated for the past half year. Last year, I testified privately before a European Parliamentary committee though I was avoiding press. My duty to democracy comes first.”
And like Haugen, Zhang is pushing for more censorship at Facebook.
“Sophie Zhang, who said she felt like she had ‘blood on her hands’ after working at Facebook, is willing to testify before Congress about her former employer, she told CNN Sunday. She said she had also passed on documentation about the company to a US law enforcement agency. Zhang, who worked as a data scientist at the tech giant for almost three years, wrote a lengthy memo when she was fired by Facebook last year detailing how she believed the company was not doing enough to tackle hate and misinformation — particularly in smaller and developing countries. Zhang said the company told her she was fired because of performance issues.”
Tackling “hate and misinformation” is code for censoring counter-narrative voices.
The pressure campaign against Facebook started in 2015 with the European migrant crisis.
German chancellor Angela Merkel implored Zuckerberg to do something about “anti-migrant” rhetoric on the platform.
But the pressure campaign ramped up after the 2016 election when the establishment was stunned that hand-picked successor Hillary Clinton lost.
Obscure Facebook ads were blamed for Clinton’s loss, thus Facebook needed to be reined in.
Zhang said in her 2020 memo:
“Officially, I’m a low-level [data scientist] who’s being fired today for poor performance…In practice, in the 2.5 years I’ve spent at Facebook, I’ve…found multiple blatant attempts by foreign national governments to abuse our platform on vast scales to mislead their own citizenry, and caused international news on multiple occasions.”
Zuckerberg began as a free speech warrior, but bent the knee to the establishment, and now they essentially want control of his company.
