Billionaire Elon Musk has learned the hard way that the Left is deranged.
Now the latest legal drama he’s been dragged into shows they’re willing to stoop to any level to prove a point.
And Musk needs a judge to have mercy on him for one shocking reason.
Elon Musk can’t get far enough away from California.
The insanity of the past few years have brought Elon Musk’s days of simply going along to get along to a screeching halt.
The former Democrat painted a giant target on himself when he stood up against unhinged leftist and plopped down $44 billion to buy Twitter in an effort to make free speech a thing on social media again.
His bold insistence on revealing the truth by releasing the platform’s dirty secrets has embarrassed Democrats and primed them to go after him with incredible amounts of hostility.
Musk needs a change of venue after his change of address
Now Musk is appealing to a federal judge to prevent a lawsuit he’s facing from taking place in the San Francisco area to much friendlier territory in Texas.
Musk, who relocated Tesla’s company headquarters to the Austin area last year, says there’s been so much negative media coverage in the Golden Gate City that there’s no way he can get a fair trial there.
Incredibly, Musk who bills himself as a “free speech absolutist” is about to go to trial over a series of tweets long before buying Twitter was even on his radar.
Back in August of 2018, Musk made waves when he toyed with the idea of taking Tesla private.
Now he’s getting sued for making claims which one judge ruled were “false and reckless.”
Some Tesla shareholders filed the lawsuit to get paid for the volatility they claimed Musk’s claims about taking the stock private caused.
Now since Musk has become entangled in the inner workings of Twitter — and insisted the company shed a lot of the deadweight on its staff –his attorneys say it’s almost impossible to find enough impartial jury members in the San Francisco area.
“For the last several months, the local media have saturated this district with biased and negative stories about Mr. Musk,” his attorney Alex Spiro argued in a court filing.
“A substantial portion of the jury pool … is likely to hold a personal and material bias against Mr. Musk as a result of recent layoffs at one of his companies as individual prospective jurors—or their friends and relatives—may have been personally impacted,” Spiro added.
In spite of the fact that Twitter was an obviously bloated company that was hemorrhaging cash—and even flirting with bankruptcy when Musk took over—leftists, including San Francisco’s mayor, have blamed him for the layoff at the tech company.
Some have even complained that Musk’s efforts to clean house and bring the tech platform back to solvency is illegal.
And based on what’s happened so far, it seems that both free-speech and private industry are under attack in California.
