Elon Musk left former Twitter execs even more enraged with one brilliant move after he canned them

The Deep State always hoped Twitter would be a tool to go after Republicans and ensure America would never return to the kind of free speech that Americans knew prior to the George W. Bush era.

The jury is still out on whether Musk will completely demolish that scheme or fall in line.

But he’s off to a good start with a brilliant move that left these former Twitter execs even more enraged after he canned them.

To say that Big Tech is not doing well right now is a huge understatement.

Stock prices of most major tech companies are plummeting and many people have been laid off as a result.

Elon Musk’s Twitter game change may ultimately fall prey to the Deep State

As far as the technology industry is concerned, few moves have rattled the industry quite like Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter.

It remains to be seen if Musk will avoid falling prey to the Deep State, but major changes have already come to Twitter.

The first major shake up started at the very top in the form of Twitter’s executive team being cleaned out.

But it hasn’t stopped there. According to sources at the top of Twitter, Elon Musk fired several top executives “with cause” in order to avoid paying them massive severance packages.

Two sources told the New York Times that these severance parachutes amounted up to hundreds of millions of dollars.

It should be noted that Elon Musk is denying these claims by the New York Times.

These sources also told the Times that they are now exploring legal options in pursuit of some of this money.

Courtney Yu, who is director of research at the corporate data research firm Equilar, told Reuters that the executives “should be getting these payments unless Elon Musk had cause for termination, with cause in these cases usually being that they broke the law or violated company policy.”

Elon Musk is off to a good start at Twitter

This move to allegedly cut severance pay by Elon Musk is not just clever but it is very frugal.

Massive “golden parachute” packages such as these have cost Twitter dearly over the years. Musk is right to start cutting waste as quickly as he did.

Of course the firings themselves are having major implications for the future of the platform, and who may or may not be allowed to use the platform.

That is because one of the first people Elon Musk fired was Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s top legal and policy executive.

Gadde was the person who made final decisions about high profile users banned from the platform, including former President Donald Trump.

So presumably, Donald Trump could return to the platform any day now if he so desires.

Twitter was a major part of Trump’s platform back in 2015/2016 when he first rose to power.

For now, Trump says he’ll stick with his Truth Social platform exclusively, but given his reach on both platforms, Trump returning to Twitter could prove to be a game changer with 2024 not too far away.

Of course, Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter could be a big game changer not just for Trump, and rumors are swirling about what the future of Twitter might look like.

More likely than not, many aspects of the platform will stay about the same, as Twitter is a pretty basic platform at the end of the day.

However change has been much needed at Twitter and Elon Musk started making those changes right at the top of the company.

Hopefully, he can fend off the Deep State plots to exert influence over the platform going forward.
