Government agents’ ties to Big Tech companies have been exposed in the Twitter Files.
Few elected officials have been implicated thus far.
But Elon Musk just leaked files that have this top Senator sweating bullets.
Social media companies have censored conservatives on their platforms.
But now it’s been shown that many have done so at the behest of government actors, as a series of internal memos and emails from the Twitter Files has helped to reveal the extent and scope of this censorship.
Evidence emerges exposing Sen. Angus King’s (I-ME) campaign
Maine US Senator Angus King maintains he’s an independent but he has caucused with the Democrat Party his entire career in Congress.
Now his campaign’s tactics against the Conservative who challenged him during his 2018 re-election campaign have been put under the spotlight.
A fresh batch of documents from the Twitter Files was released by journalist Matt Taibbi, which purportedly show King’s 2018 campaign staff attempted to get Twitter to suspend accounts that were critical of King.
Taibbi prefaced the revelation with a tweet about the frenzy of news stories from legacy media outlets over a witness’s testimony that former President Donald Trump supposedly asked to remove a mean tweet by actress Chrissy Teigen.
Then Taibbi dropped the hammer, tweeting “If a president freaking out about one tweeter is news, surely a U.S. Senator finking on three hundred-plus of his constituents also must be?”
The tweet included a screenshot of an October 2018 email from Twitter’s then-Public Policy Manager, Kevin Kane, to the company’s censorship team.

“I spoke with the Campaign Director for Sen Angus King this morning, who provided a very large list (attached) of 354 suspicious Twitter accounts they have identified,” the lobbyist’s email reads.
Taibbi followed up with a tweet revealing what he suggests are the contents of the spreadsheet labeled “Sus FB Accounts” in the email.
“Here’s Maine Senator Angus King writing to Twitter to call a slew of accounts “suspicious” for reasons like: “Rand Paul visit excitement”, “Bot (averages 20 tweets a day)” , Being followed by rival Eric Brakey, Or, my personal favorite: “Mentions immigration.”
Much of the “suspicious” activity King’s campaign reported simply appears to be support for King’s opponent, Eric Brakey, a Republican Maine State Senator first elected in 2014.

So evidently according to staff from the sitting US Senator’s campaign, if not Senator King himself, following a political rival, talking about immigration or tweeting more than 20 times a day ought to raise alarm bells which they evidently think should lead to account suspension.
Naturally, the King staffer relied on that favorite leftist boogeyman first brought to Americans’ attention as a result of sour grapes following Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in the 2016 election – “russian bot.”
If Taibbi’s revelations are indeed true, then it’s hard to argue it was anything other than a direct assault on the First Amendment.
An investigation into Angus King and his staff is needed immediately
These new revelations from the Twitter Files should cause major shockwaves amongst anyone who isn’t drunk on authoritarian kool aid.
And if they are confirmed, it proves that elected officials have been abusing their power to make political gain.
Big Tech should not be playing political games like this and it’s flat-out criminal when any government officials elected or unelected collude with them to trample on Americans’ rights.
Angus King and his staff should be forced to answer to these allegations in the very near future.
