Elon Musk has his hands full cleaning up one deceitful left-wing practice

Elon Musk stirred the pot when he revealed his plan to buy Twitter and take it private.

His gambit exposed the seedy underbelly of social media and establishment politics.

Now, Musk has his hands full cleaning up one deceitful left-wing practice.

The Left can’t stand the thought of Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

They want Twitter to remain a platform that’s biased in favor of the Left.

Musk has been the subject of countless hit pieces from establishment sources.

Once Musk has full access to the company, he will be able to figure out just how deep the bias runs.

For example, many have complained about the practice of shadow banning, i.e. hiding content without people knowing their posts are being intentionally throttled.

And Instagram just got caught doing exactly that.

Business Insider India reported that “in 2019, Instagram had apologised for shadowbanning pole dancers and attendees of a Caribbean carnival. Posts with hashtags #PoleFitness and #StLuciaCarnival were removed from the explore tab completely but the platform said it was an error. ‘We apologise for the mistake,’ a spokesperson said in both these cases. ‘It is never our intention to silence members of our community,’ said the platform spokesperson. In India, Facebook and Instagram ‘ mistakenly blocked’ #Sikh for almost three months in 2020. A similar apology was released after it caught international attention. An Instagram spokesperson said its ‘processes fell down and it was never their intention to silence members of this community.’”

Instagram already apologized, but the problem is even worse on Twitter.

Upon the news that Musk was going to buy the social media giant, many prominent right-wingers noticed that their follower counts jumped immediately.

It was almost as if a switch was flipped.

There was clearly some type of algorithmic manipulation afoot.

Rapper Ice Cube—who is not right-wing, but ran afoul of the Left when he met with the Trump administration on a neighborhood initiative after being ignored by the Biden campaign—called out the fact that he had been shadow banned.

Ice Cube tweeted, “Free at last! [Elon], take off my shadow ban homie…”

People understand that their voices have been systematically silenced.

Over the past few years, Twitter essentially operated as an enforcement arm of the state.

Politicians would threaten them if they didn’t remove certain content or voices, and they did it.

With Musk in charge, the state of play could change dramatically.
