Joe Biden’s chances of being the Democratic nominee are shrinking.
People in the Party are already reluctant to get behind him as the 2024 candidate.
And Biden’s classified documents scandal just took a turn for the worse.
Joe Biden’s remarks regarding Donald Trump’s classified documents imbroglio just came back to haunt him.
Biden called Trump “irresponsible,” and now he seemingly leaves behind classified documents the way Hunter Biden leaves behind incriminating laptops.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate the matter, much to the consternation of the Democrats and their media allies.
They were hoping Garland would wrap up the matter with a nice bow.
Searches expanded to Biden’s Delaware beach house
But Special Counsel Robert Hur just executed a search of Biden’s home at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.
The DOJ’s hands were tied after AG Garland set the precedent by raiding Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.
White House Counsel Ian Sams was grilled on the matter during a press gaggle.
One reporter asked, “You’re disclosing this search, but you did not disclose that the FBI also searched the President’s former private office here in Washington. Do the American people have a right to know about that?”
Sams responded, “Yeah, I think we’ve been pretty transparent from the very beginning with providing information as it occurs throughout this process. You know, we have released probably thousands of words of statements from the President’s personal attorney in the White House Counsel’s Office about the process that has been undertaken here — that process that has been fully coordinated with the Justice Department as they conduct an ongoing investigation.”
Except that’s not true.
The Biden administration has not been transparent.
Biden knew about the classified documents issue prior to the 2022 Midterms, but did not disclose until January.
The reporter followed up, “But why didn’t they disclose that search?”
Sams replied, “[It’s] important to understand that as these things develop and as information develops throughout an investigation, we’re trying to get you guys access to as much information as we can. And with regards to that specific question, I don’t have anything to add for you right now. I think it’s probably more appropriate — that question, specifically, about something that happened a few months ago — be asked to the Justice Department.”
Sams pawned off questions to the Justice Department multiple times, knowing that the DOJ will not comment on an ongoing investigation.
Biden’s classified documents mess just won’t seem to go away.
