Joe Biden and the Democrats are vigorously pursuing their political enemies.
Even Donald Trump’s lawyers are being charged with nonsensical crimes.
And Biden put a bullseye on Elon Musk’s back with one investigation.
Elon Musk got cross with the D.C. establishment when he purchased Twitter for $44 billion and took the company private.
Almost instantaneously, Musk uncovered misconduct by the old Twitter regime and disclosed much of it with the Twitter Files, a compendium of dispatches from journalists that showed collusion with governmental agencies.
Some of the dispatches showed how the Biden administration was pressuring Twitter to silence American citizens.
Now the Biden administration is striking back.
Musk’s company SpaceX was recently sued by the Department of Justice for alleged employment discrimination against refugees and asylees.
A point about glass houses?
Musk said publicly that the positions were only eligible to American citizens for security reasons, per federal law.
And Musk’s company Tesla was just targeted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Manhattan federal prosecutors.
The Wall Street Journal reported that “Manhattan federal prosecutors are investigating Tesla’s use of company funds on a secret project that had been described internally as a house for Chief Executive Elon Musk, people familiar with the matter said. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has sought information about personal benefits paid to Musk, how much Tesla spent on the project—which called for a spacious glass structure to be built in the Austin, Texas, area—and what it was for, the people said.”
Of all the things for the SEC and federal prosecutors to investigate, it seems strange that Musk is being targeted for allegedly building a house.
It’s even more suspicious coming off the heels of the SpaceX lawsuit.
The Journal added that “Tesla board members had investigated whether company resources were misused on the secret effort, known internally as ‘Project 42,’ and whether Musk was personally involved. The outcome of Tesla’s internal investigation couldn’t be learned. The Securities and Exchange Commission has also opened a civil investigation into Project 42 and is seeking similar information from the company, one of the people said.”
The D.C. establishment has used the election of Donald Trump in 2016 as a greenlight to break all sorts of norms.
In true Soviet fashion, the federal government is identifying a target and looking for a crime.
Musk wouldn’t play ball with the alphabet agencies, so they’re seemingly going to make his life a living hell.
