College students and employees are living through an academic year that feels like something out of a Babylon Bee satire piece.
But leftists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez love it.
And AOC’s heart will melt over the demented censorship regime some college students face when they return from Thanksgiving.
As the price of a four-year degree continues to climb, it’s obvious academics are taking a backseat to the gender wars agenda.
It’s no laughing matter, with students literally being graded on their degree of political correctness and employees threatened with losing their jobs if they insult the delicate sensitivities of leftists.
Columbia University employees can now be fired for using the wrong pronouns.
No doubt, there are plenty of staffers studying up to make sure that doesn’t happen.
After all, using the “right” pronoun is fairly stinkin’ complicated these days.
A video called “Why Pronouns Matter” on the university’s YouTube account probably has the poor janitors in fits trying to figure out how to make it through life in 2021.
A few new vocabulary words? How about xe/xem, ze/hir, per/pers, and ey/em.
The politically correct nonsense is spreading faster than Covid-19 in a jet full of vaccinated Democrats.
Point Park University in Pennsylvania emailed incoming students this year with their, “Misgendering, Pronoun Misuse, and Deadnaming Policy.”
They told students that, “any individual who has been informed of another person’s gender identity, pronouns, or chosen name is expected to respect that individual.”
According to Fox News, students were informed “‘action could be taken’ if a complaint is filed regarding the policy.”
The email went on to explain, “While the University recognizes the aspect of intent versus impact, we must recognize that regardless of the intent, if an individual is impacted in a harmful way, action could be taken if a complaint is filed.”
Fox News couldn’t get the university to clarify the nature of dire consequences that would follow intentional or accidental name calling.
But the mere threat of having a complaint filed sounds fairly ominous.
And remember those old jokes about students taking underwater basket weaving classes?
Well, now it seems there are no easy grades—at least none that allow for pronoun typos.
A yoga studies professor at Loyola Marymount University in California told students their grades will depend on keeping up with all the pronoun insanity.
The professor told students they need to put “their pronouns” next to their names in blog posts. Failure to do so will be taken into consideration when their grades are being tallied.
According to information from a student group cited in a Fox News article the directive came from “Professor Christopher Miller.”
The university’s website lists his name (without gender pronouns) as “Christopher Jain Miller” at the top of the page and then “Christopher Patrick Miller” in the first line of his biography.
Never has mentioning that someone started out with a B.S. degree seemed more relevant.
