Alvin Bragg thought he was going to be on easy street after Donald Trump’s conviction.

He’s facing blowback over his politically-motivated case against the former President.

Now Alvin Bragg is sweating bullets after Jim Jordan hit him with this nasty curveball.

Jim Jordan demands that Alvin Bragg and his right-hand man testify before Congress

Former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in a Soviet-style show trial in Manhattan.

Now Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is going to have to face the music for his politically-motivated prosecution against Trump.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) requested that Bragg and Manhattan District Attorney’s Office prosecutor Matthew Colangelo testify at a hearing of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

“This hearing will examine actions by state and local prosecutors to engage politically motivated prosecutions of federal officials, in particular the recent political prosecution of President Donald Trump by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office,” Jordan wrote Bragg and Colangelo.

Former Federal Election Commission (FEC) chairman Brad Smith is also expected to be invited to testify at the hearing.

Smith was going to be called as an expert witness in the Bragg case by Trump’s legal team but Democrat Judge Juan Merchan – a donor to President Joe Biden – barred him from testifying about federal campaign finance law in the case.

Merchan gave jurors the option of picking one of three crimes that Trump allegedly covered up in falsifying business records including a federal campaign violation – that the former President was never charged with.

Bragg’s absurd case alleged that Trump improperly recorded an accounting entry in 2017 to “corrupt” the 2016 Presidential Election.

Colangelo could be a key witness for Jordan and House Republicans

Trump has long maintained that Biden is behind the criminal cases against him by Democrat prosecutors.

Colangelo gave the opening arguments in Trump’s case and was one of the top prosecutors in the Manhattan courtroom on the case for Bragg.

But his path to joining the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has a direct link to the Biden administration.

Colangelo left his spot as the number three official in the Biden Justice Department in December 2022 to join Bragg.

Leaving a high-ranking post in the Justice Department to join a county prosecutor’s office raises serious questions about him being an emissary for the Biden administration.

“Remember this. Colangelo was a DOJ guy. He’s a Biden DOJ guy,” Trump said at a press conference in March. “Why is he in the Manhattan DA’s office trying the case? That in itself is a conflict. He’s in the Manhattan DA’s office trying the case. I mean, that’s called a conflict.”

What’s more, Colangelo worked for New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) who brought the frivolous civil fraud lawsuit against Trump before taking a job in the Biden Justice Department.

Bragg resisted an effort last year by Jordan to have him testify about the Trump case.

Now a battle could be brewing to haul him and Colangelo in front of Congress to face the music for their politically-motivated prosecution of Donald Trump.
