America faces a number of domestic security threats, whether it is the border crisis or the surge in crime all across the nation.

Yet the Biden administration seems laser-focused on stopping so-called “misinformation,” which they deem to be one of the biggest domestic threats to national security.

Alejandro Mayorkas nearly burst into tears after Rand Paul tore him a new one.

The Joe Biden Administration has wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on various online censorship schemes

In recent months, the FBI and Department of Justice have been exposed for allegedly coordinating with social media companies to censor and silence voices online that are critical of the Joe Biden administration.

These flagrant violations of the First Amendment have created widespread outrage, and now top brass in these administrations are being forced to answer up for these sinister actions.

On Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray testified in front of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee regarding these matters.

During the hearing, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky asked DHS Security Alejandro Mayorkas whether or not the federal government instructed social media companies to take down content.

Mayorkas responded with, “We do not meet with social media companies for the purpose of instructing them to take down content.”

He added, “What we have done in the past, Ranking Member Paul, as I shared with you previously, is we, along with other federal agencies, have met with social media companies in a public-private partnership to speak of the threats to the homeland so that those companies are alert to them.”

Later on in the hearing, Senator Rand Paul asked FBI Director Christopher Wray the same question, to which Wray responded that the FBI is “having some interaction with social-media companies, but all of those interactions have changed fundamentally in the wake of the court order.”

The FBI and DHS cannot be trusted when it comes to monitoring so-called “misinformation”

For quite some time, the American Left has prioritized stopping what they deem to be “misinformation.”

This push to prevent so-called misinformation accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the government openly worked with social media companies to silence any medical information that did not walk in lockstep with their prevailing theories.

However, as history has proven over the years, once you hand the government power, it is virtually impossible to seize it back, and to this day the government continues to censor voices online that they deem as hostile.

The only hope for the future of free speech is major changes to the way that the federal government operates, ideally reducing the size and scope of the federal government, and thus exhausting resources for these censorship schemes.
